Winter Travel
PYB offers a competitive travel basketball program for boys and girls in grades 3 through 8. The travel program is designed for players that are looking for a higher level of competition and requires a higher level of commitment. Our travel programs compete in the South Shore Youth Basketball League (SSYBL - Boys), South Shore Girls Basketball League (SSGBL - Girls), Old Colony League (OCL - Girls), and the Starland Winter League (Boys)

Boys and Girls in grades 3 through 8
When
The winter travel season runs from mid- late October through mid-March.
TRYOUTS
Travel team tryouts are currently scheduled to begin on Monday September 29th at the Pembroke Community Center. These dates are subject to change, but PYB will communicate any updates as quickly as possible.
There are 2 tryouts for each grade & gender; kids are only required to attend one tryout to be considered for a travel team, but are encouraged to attend both tryouts.
Travel teams are typically announced in mid-late October, and start practices in mid-late October.
Where
Practices are primarily held at the Pembroke Public School gyms, Wolves Den, Starland, or other local locations.
Home Games are played at Pembroke Community Middle School and Pembroke High School.
Away Games are held at various locations across the South Shore.
Practices
Travel teams practice twice a week beginning in mid-late October and run through mid-March.
Games
Travel teams will play 12-20 games (including playoffs) primarily on weekends (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays). Each travel team is also allowed to enter and play in at least one tournament.
Uniforms
First time travel players will be required to purchase a new uniform. Uniforms from the previous years can be used. If the uniform is lost, damaged or does not fit the family is responsible for purchasing a new uniform kit. Please see the PYB uniform policy on our webpage. update our website.
Costs
Approximately $300/player
- $20 will be due with registration. If selected to a team this amount will be applied to the full tuition.
- An additional tuition amount will be due once selected to a travel roster. You will have the option to pay in full or two installments .
- If a player is not selected to a team, you will have the option to have the registration fee returned or applied to the In-Town program.
- Uniform Kits will be approximately $70 in addition to the registration fee.
2025-2026
Registration for the 2025-2026 winter travel season is live. All players must be registered in advance of tryouts to be eligible to tryout. Registration deadline for the winter travel season is 09/28/25.
A $20 registration fee will be applied to your full season tuition upon roster placement.
